Irais that is a great idea. Nice to know you don't have to spend tons for great hair

I use mayonaisse and the one egg's yellow mixed together as split ends hair repair once a week and my hair is flawless! By the way, once you rinse it, it doesn't smell at all!

I received a gift package of Made from Earth (organic skincare) products for xmas......In the package was a "Peppermint Herbal Conditioner".

I have color treated hair that is washed daily......after using the Tea Tree shampoo and the Peppermint Conditioner conditioner today, I was so amazed on how my hair looked and felt.....My hair was shiny, smelled good and the conditioner made my hair a breeze to comb thru...the conditioner was not heavy and weigh my hair down.....

My husband noticed the difference right away.....I am very pleased with the Made from Earth bath products and will continue to use them.....My hair looks great and feels healthy.......

Dana- have you ever tried cooked flaxseed as a styling gel? That's what people used to use in the early 1900s. :) It makes a gel when you cook it.

I love the idea of using nettle and lemon for a shampoo. Yum! I read in H Style Magazine about how to grow your hair long naturally. I love natural products.

Thank you for your input Dr. Ryan. For those of us who are laymen the term chemical will always have the connotation of synthetic, and negative. While some synthetics might not be harmful there are those of us that prefer to minimalize exposure.

A chemical free life? Everything is a chemical. To be specific in your ideas would improve this discussion. Water is a chemical and so is cyanide. Both occur naturally in the envirnment. One will kill you. It would be best if people understood that chemistry and chemicals are not bad. What one wants to stay away from are chemicals which can do harm. The synthetic vs. natural argument will always rage on when people who don't even know what they are talking about say they want to live a chemical free life.

I wish there were some recipes for homemade hair and body products (lotions, conditioner) on this site. I've seen the ones listed before, and what I try to do when I find any online is go to a site called skindeep (cosmeticsdatabase.com, I think) and check any ingredients to see if it's okay on the body or not. I am looking for all unscented, natural, non toxic, and animal friendly ingredients which narrow down a lot! If I find anything like that, or mix one that works, I will post it! :)

Thank you so much! This site makes it so much easier to see how living a chemical-free life can be. Feeling a little less over-whelmed! Spokane Valley, WA loves and appreciates your work!
