How Organic Argan Oil is Harvested

To get to the kernel, the Berber women use a sharp stone to crack the shell. Then, they use two slabs of rock and grind the nuts into a paste. The paste is then kneaded to extract much of the oil. The leftover paste is usually sent to a nearby processing plant, where even more oil is extracted.
